Despite the fact that it began as a device with the most basic of specifications, the Chromebook has grown in size and power over time, even though its features are still a little rudimentary when compared to most Windows laptops. Acer has enjoyed the benefits of beefing up Chromebooks by including Intel CPUs and larger displays, and the company now accounts for almost a third of the market.
The Acer Chromebook 15 CB3-531-C4A5 is a Chrome OS notebook with a display of 15.60 inches in diagonal width. With a Celeron Dual-Core CPU and 2GB of RAM, it provides a powerful computing experience. The Acer Chromebook CB3-531-C4A5 has a hard drive with a capacity of 16GB.
Intel Integrated HD Graphics is responsible for the graphics. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac is supported, and it includes 2 USB ports (1 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0), an HDMI connector, and several card slots as additional connectivity choices.
Despite the fact that the Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571 series has a starting price of $249.99, its optional 1080p display and Core i3 CPU may drive up the price significantly. Acer has lowered the beginning price of the CB3-531 by $50 while maintaining the same larger 1,366×768 display on the new model.
In order to achieve that lower price point, the CB3-531 had to make some sacrifices, and it looks that those sacrifices were made in the CPU. While the CB5-571 is equipped with Intel Core processors from the fifth generation (also known as Haswell), the CB3-531 is equipped with an older Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core processor. This model also comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of solid-state storage, which is typical of the modest needs of the Chrome OS; however, the CB5-571 may be upgraded to 4GB of RAM and 32GB SSD for an additional cost.
Batterie life was one area where the CB3-531 did not have to make concessions; Acer says that the device can operate for up to 11.5 hours between charges. According to the business, you’ll also receive 802.11ac Wi-Fi for lightning-fast wireless connections, as well as the biggest trackpad available on a Chromebook.
Despite being a newer model, the CB3-531 has the same durability characteristics as its older Acer Chromebook 15 brother, including the capacity to endure pressures of up to 130 pounds and strengthened corners that can sustain falls of up to 18 inches. Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility, USB 3.0 and 2.0 connections, an HDMI connection, and an SD card reader round out the list of features on this device.
